Why do you want to be a mentor?

• To offer more. If you have great people in your circle that want to work with you, but need more than you are currently able to provide, or want something different than you offer, you have found your solution. Hatch gives you the opportunity to provide an incredible program that complements your current offerings to your existing network, clients, and colleagues.
• To give back. Mentorship with Hatch Network allows you to affect positive change in the women's entrepreneurial movement. You were "there" once and you know how tough it can be. Your guidance, stories, and connections are invaluable to less-experienced business owners. You can pay it forward, and help build a smarter community of women in business.
• To enhance your business. Not only is your part-time mentorship paid, but you will have the option of offering additional consulting hours (at a discounted rate) to women who might need a bit morel help. If you have a B2B service, and you establish trust as an educator and mentor, your students may be interested in hiring you down the line. Also, as a Hatch Mentor, doors to new groups and organizations open up for you. Are you ready to start knocking?

What is Required

• Minimum 4 years running your own business
• Commitments to facilitate the 13-session curriculum, two times per year, for at least one year
• Ability to recruit students to fill your Pod
• Group leadership experience
• A desire to help others be better than they are today
• Existing set of ethical and transparent business practices (i.e. you will freely share your experience with the people you help)
• Experience and comfort with all topics outlined in Pod curriculum
• Expertise in marketing, finance, sales, or management for small business
• Industry specific experience – product development and manufacturing, consulting practice, design, fashion, photography, technology, retail
• Provide a comfortable, safe location for regular meetings (home, office, store)
• Set start date and maintain schedule
• Must host two open houses (minimum) during each Pod. Additional Open Houses help with recruiting
• Consistency, follow through, enforcement of member accountability, a willingness to be available to members when they get stuck or need extra help, and a non-judgmental, positive attitude
• Approach challenges and challenging people with a positive attitude
• Nurture individuality and encourage leadership
• Lead by example
• Ability to help someone that might be struggling
• Post all relevant information to the group Pod page
• Consistent communication with the Hatch Network home base
• Willingness to ask for help from the other mentors on the team when you are unable to help someone in your group
